97 Compound: Has a bite slightly higher than the 90 compound. Cold bite
comes in at 250ºF and has a moderate flat torque curve. With the flat torque curve the driver now has the ability to turn the steering wheel in the corner while braking. The driver now can modulate the brake pedal similar to the passenger car. This compound also releases faster than all of the other above-mentioned compounds. Quicker release allows for the car to be freed up sooner and quicker lap times. This compound has been used on the front and rear of Late Models. Used on rear of Dirt Late Models and various road race applications.
